Now, this isn't a very exciting day. Today we had to say goodbye to our friend Giuseppe and return home to Oregon. It was a fun trip getting to know him more since I didn't really when we were at camp two summers ago. So, it was a sad day, but at the same time I was ready to get back to Monmouth, I still have somethings to do before school starts. Like, make a video for the assassin's game, make a video for the photo scavenger hunt, and I think there is something else I am suppose to do, but I can't remember at this time...
After we pack up, we follow Giuseppe to Noah's Bagel place where we got some breakfast bagels and said our goodbyes. Hopefully, they will be able to come up to Oregon this summer and we can show them around P-town.
We hit the road and Ian took the first shift driving. We made a few extra CD's because the ones we had didn't last the whole trip... unfortunately neither did these, haha. After about 2-3 hours of driving we stopped for gas and switched up drivers. My turn. I drove for about 4 hours before we needed to stop for a pee break. We hit up a McDonald's and got a mini meal. We downed that pretty fast. We just wanted to get back on the road and back home. Ian took the last remaining time driving. Not going to lie... his driving kinda scares me... I looked over at him once and we was staring at the wheel drumming and he drove out of our lane and onto the shoulder before he looked up again... Anyways, we had a semi-serious conversation about him, me and Sammie. I guess I still have some bitterness towards them. I have a short temper with Ian sometimes and the thought of hanging out with them isn't too appealing for me, but I do miss the friendship I had with them, so I'm definitely going to try. God can do anything, even fix this.
Towards the end on I-5 we saw flashing lights and they were funneling us into one lane. We were pissed at this because we had to slow way down and we just wanted to get home. We pass the flashing lights and all we saw were two cops with two semi's pulled over. WHY DID THEY CLOSE THE OTHER LANE!? We finally make it to Newberg around 10 p.m. we get our stuff and then head out to Salem where Ian is staying with his Uncle. We get here and apparently Ian's mom gave him the wrong house key so we had to wait for them to bring it up. We slept in the car while we waited. Finally we get the key, come in and fall asleep. The night seemed to last forever.
Thank you God for keeping us safe on our long journey. Much love.
