I’m in Pleasanton, California visiting Giuseppe (a friend
that I met working at a summer camp up in Washington called SAMBICA) with Ian
Eilert (a friend I met in middle school). I’ve been here since late late Sunday
evening. It took us about 10-11 hours to drive from Wilsonville, Oregon to
Giuseppe’s apartment. The main reason we came was for Ian. He has a bro crush
on Giuseppe and I only came because Ian said he’d pay for all my stuff. I
really didn’t want to come because Ian and I had a falling out in friendship.
Maybe being here with each other and hanging out again after 3 months of not
seeing each other will straighten things out? One can only hope.
So, anyway, back to my day. I’ve been sleeping on an air
mattress, which isn’t too bad because he put a memory foam pad on top of it.
So, it is actually pretty comfortable. I woke up around 10:30-11:00 a.m. and
took a shower, which started off really nice and warm and then within 5 min
dropped to ice. After that, played some video games while we waited for
Giuseppe to finish up with a meeting he had at the church he works at as the
Youth Pastor. When he got off we headed up to an Indian Restaurant. I forgot
that all the food was so spicy, plus I haven’t had Indian food in a really long
time so I forgot what it was like. The verdict. It was pretty good. The look of
it. Pretty bad. Almost all of it looked either like diarrhea or vomit, but the
taste was good. The curry and rice was my favorite. However, Thai food still
has the number one spot in my heart for food. Followed by sushi. Which we had
for lunch, but I’m not there yet. After we ate we headed over to the BART (Bay
Area Rapid Transit) Trains to go to San Francisco. We started on Powell St and
ended up walking all the way up to the top of the peninsula by Ghirardelli
Square. We stopped in a few stores like The Disney Store, Starbucks (where I
got a Carmel Macchiato), then we went to the sushi restaurant. We ordered a
bunch of the rolls. I don’t remember all of them, but one was called the Tekka,
which was just tuna in the middle of a rice roll and seaweed wrapped, another
was the California Roll and my favorite one was called the Lion King. And no
they didn’t come out singing the “Ahhhhh-Sah-Ben-Ya…..”
Lion King song, but I wished they did. When we were done, we went and
waited in line for the Trolley to take us back up to Powell St so we can take
the BART back to Giuseppe’s. We stood there and watched two Trolleys’ come and
go without taking anybody on them. It was pretty confusing, but there wasn’t
anything we could really do about it, so we waited. And did I mention the
entire time we were in San Francisco it was raining pretty good. Finally, we
get on the Trolley, we were all soaked by this time, but relived that were on a
dry Trolley out of the rain. Well, when we were about 6-10 blocks away from our
destination, we lost the cable to the Trolley and couldn’t move. We had to wait
for a truck to make its way through all the traffic and push the Trolley the
rest of the way. So, instead of waited we got out and hoofed it the rest of the
way. We made it home, played some Super Smash Bros and then watched most of the
Twilight Rifftrax before passing out. The End.
